"I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become."

CARL JUNG

You might be seeking therapy because you are feeling stuck, anxious or depressed, or maybe you just want support while going through a difficult phase in life.  Sometimes these feelings are triggered by obvious causes, while at other times the underlying causes seem opaque. Counselling and therapy can help through providing a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space to look into the possible sources of feelings and behavioural patterns that might be the underlying causes of distress.

I provide short term counselling and longterm psychotherapy for individual adults (18+), couples and groups in areas including: stress, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, employment, redundancy, higher education, post-natal depression, bereavement, low self esteem, low confidence, body image, trauma, relationships, parenting, bullying, cultural conflicts, identity, adjustment and belonging, workplace counselling.

Counselling and psychotherapy

Getting professional support can feel very daunting, and it is important to make someone seeking therapy as comfortable as possible. After you contact me by email or phone we will have an initial phone call that will last around 20 minutes, this is free and if you want to go ahead with counselling, we will set up an initial session which will last 50 minutes. There is no obligation to continue therapy with me if you think that it will not work for you. After the initial session if you decide to continue, we will choose an available slot that suits both of us and we will meet once a week for 50 minutes for individuals and 60 minutes (or longer) for couples. The number of sessions will depend on you, you can stop therapy whenever suits you.

Everything discussed in therapy is confidential and you will be able to tell me anything. I have regular supervision, which is an ethical requirement, and this process is also confidential and is bound by professional codes of conduct and ethics.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me using the contact tab or by email. Also, there is some general useful information in the “More information” tab which provides general information on counselling and psychotherapy.
